SCORM, xAPI and cmi5 support in Learnivo
If you already build courses as SCORM packages, track learning with xAPI statements, or use cmi5 content, you can bring them into Learnivo instead of rebuilding them.
What these terms mean
- SCORM is a packaging standard: a course is a zip of content that reports completion and scores back to the platform.
- xAPI records individual learning events as statements (“Learner A completed lesson 3”), including from content that lives outside a course package.
- cmi5 combines both for modern content: packaged content with rich, standardised tracking.
How it works in Learnivo
- Upload your SCORM or cmi5 package in Course Management; Learnivo stores it and tracks launch attempts per learner.
- Publish it as a lesson — learners play it inside the normal course player, alongside Learnivo-native lessons.
- See the results — completion and scores appear in course analytics; xAPI statements are captured in the platform's statement store and surfaced in analytics and reports.
For assessment content, the QTI question exchange (Pro plans and above) also imports and exports question banks, so your existing question assets move too.

Honest limits
We'd rather prove it than promise it: SCORM packages vary in how faithfully they follow the standard, so bring your most complex package to a demo and we'll test it live before you commit. Analytics show what the content reports — a package that never sends completion data will show no completion in any LMS.

Will my existing SCORM courses work without rebuilding?
Most SCORM and cmi5 packages import as-is. Because package quality varies, we verify yours in a demo rather than asking you to take it on faith.
Do I have to re-create my question banks?
No. QTI question exchange (Pro and above) imports and exports question banks between systems.
Can I mix SCORM lessons with Learnivo-native lessons in one course?
Yes — a course can contain SCORM, cmi5, video, article, quiz and other lesson types side by side.
